Ten folks were injured, 4 critically, and three legislation enforcement officers were damage Monday evening after gunfire erupted in downtown Charleston, South Carolina, according to police.

These suspects had been identified as Ayesha McGee and Tahira McGee, NBC affiliate of WCBD of Charleston reported, citing stories from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office. 

Ayesha McGee was charged with third-degree assault and battery and Tahira McGee with second-degree assault and battery and resisting arrest. 

Officials stated extra arrests are expected.

Officers said South Street from Nassau Avenue to Drake Street and America Street from Reid Road to Mary Street within the area will stay closed to process the shooting scene.

The mayor condemned gun violence within the city and across the nation, a nod to the Buffalo, New York, grocery store capturing and the Uvalde, Texas, college shooting.

“I don’t learn about you but I’m mad about it. I’m fed up,” Tecklenburg mentioned. “Enough is enough."

Tecklenburg announced an 8-point plan to handle gun violence that includes graduated penalties for gun crimes, promoting safer firearm use, and shutting down occasions with out proper permits.
