The family of an 11-year-old woman who survived the bloodbath at Robb Elementary College in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday says the 4th grader played dead after the gunman entered her classroom.

Miah Cerrillo's aunt and godmother stated the 4th grader is struggling to cope and telling them what she witnessed through the capturing.

"Around midnight my sister-in-law called me and she or he was just crying, like 'I believe it just hit Miah. I think all the pieces came to reality now,'" mentioned Blanca Rivera.

Rivera mentioned Miah's instructor, Irma Garcia, was one of many two lecturers killed. Her associates and classmates have been also targeted.

Rivera mentioned that is when Miah went into survival mode.

"Miah bought some blood and put it on herself so she could pretend she was useless," mentioned Rivera. "It's an excessive amount of for me to play that scene over and over again, but that is what my sister-in-law stated is that she saw her good friend full of blood and she acquired blood and put it on herself."

Miah was injured but taken to the hospital and has been launched.

"My brother stated she had bullet fragments in her back," stated Rivera.

Rivera, a mother of three, said the family is rallying around Miah to help her recover physically, emotionally and spiritually.

"At this level, we simply have to wish and ask God to assist us transfer ahead through this situation, I do know it's traumatizing as it's," stated Rivera.

Nearly everybody in the city of Uvalde has been touched by the loss of somebody in the mass capturing at Robb Elementary School, residents are supporting one another as they begin coping with the tragedy.
