The family of an 11-year-old girl who survived the bloodbath at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday says the 4th grader played dead after the gunman entered her classroom.

Miah Cerrillo's aunt and godmother stated the 4th grader is struggling to manage and telling them what she witnessed during the capturing.

"Round midnight my sister-in-law referred to as me and she was simply crying, like 'I feel it simply hit Miah. I feel all the pieces got here to actuality now,'" said Blanca Rivera.

Rivera mentioned Miah's teacher, Irma Garcia, was one of the two teachers killed. Her buddies and classmates had been additionally targeted.

Rivera mentioned that is when Miah went into survival mode.

"Miah received some blood and put it on herself so she may pretend she was dead," stated Rivera.
