Bordentown, NJ police chief sprawled in road during DWI arrest

HAMILTON (Mercer) — A police chief from Burlington County now dealing with DWI costs in Mercer County was lying down within the street behind his pickup truck, keys and cellular phone strewn nearby — as seen in physique digital camera footage from the April arrest.

“You’re sleeping in the midst of the highway… your pants are down,” the other officer says in another video shared to YouTube by NJ.com.

He asks “Are you diabetic?”

“By no means,” Pesce says — to which the officer responds: “In all probability the unsuitable answer.”

Pesce has been on restricted obligation until additional notice pending investigation results as he faces expenses for 5 traffic offenses.

Pesce disputes that he had been driving, saying “Nobody was driving.”

He was promoted to chief in 2018, after 20 years with Bordentown police, following the resignation of disgraced former Bordentown Police Chief Frank Nucera.
