Drunk driver crashes, heads straight to dealership to attempt to promote damaged automobile with lacking tire

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Police say they arrested a driver who was 3.5 times the legal alcohol limit after a minimum of five folks known as 911.

Officers say the calls started coming in around 4:40 p.m. Monday.

They are saying witnesses reported seeing a SUV hit the median of the Lloyd Expressway near the Most important Street exit. They are saying the crash precipitated a flat tire and the automobile to smoke, but the driver kept going.

Other callers say the driver was everywhere in the highway and now missing a entrance tire.

They say he finally stopped at a automobile dealership and appeared “tremendous drunk.”

Employees advised police the driver, 30-year-old Jordon Mattingly, was making an attempt to promote his SUV.

Police say he had swelling and scratches as if he had just been in a crash.

They are saying Mattingly smelled of alcohol and almost fell several times. Officers say he tested .291 on a conveyable breath check.

Police say inside his SUV, they discovered Four Loko cans and a can of White Claw.

Mattingly is dealing with several prices.

He's the son of the supervisor for the Miami Marlins and former professional baseball participant, Don Mattingly.
