Federal brokers entered Uvalde faculty to kill gunman despite local police initially asking them to wait

Federal brokers who went to Robb Elementary College in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday to confront a gunman who killed 19 kids were instructed by local police to attend and never enter the college — and then decided after about half an hour to ignore that initial steering and discover the shooter, say two senior federal law enforcement officials.
