A fifth grade pupil in Florida was arrested over the weekend and charged with sending a textual content message threatening to hold out a mass capturing, authorities said.
In a press release Saturday, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said it had discovered earlier that day of a "threatening text message" despatched by a student at an elementary school.
It stated its native college risk enforcement crew was immediately notified and began investigating. The ten-year-old boy was interviewed and charged later with "making a written menace to conduct a mass shooting," the sheriff's office stated.
In video shared by authorities, the boy may be seen being led into a police automobile.
“This pupil’s conduct is sickening, especially after the recent tragedy in Uvalde, Texas,” Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno said in a press release, noting that the risk came simply days after the lethal school taking pictures at Robb Elementary Faculty left 19 college students and two teachers dead.
“Proper now isn't the time to behave like a little delinquent. It’s not humorous,” he said. “This youngster made a faux menace, and now he’s experiencing real penalties.”
