TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida man has been sentenced to life in jail for traveling to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors he met online, in response to officials.

The U.S. Division of Justice says Christopher Edwin Day, 52, traveled two completely different instances in 2015 and 2016 to Vietnam from Florida to have sexual encounters with minor Vietnamese boys. Courtroom data say he flew backwards and forwards disguising himself as an English instructor.

A number of the boys, in response to the DOJ, have been lured with promises of money and items. Others introduced him as their English trainer.

The Tampa Bay Information says Homeland Safety investigated the case in Tampa and in Ho Chi Minh Metropolis. It was a part of Challenge Safe Childhood, which was an effort to find baby intercourse abuse began in 2006 by the DOJ.

“The laws of the USA will nonetheless catch up to little one predators who even travel to foreign international locations to sexually abuse minor youngsters. Because of HSI’s international investigative authorities and robust partnerships, each at HSI Tampa and HSI Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, this sexual predator was stopped from harming more children and his victim will have the justice they deserve,” said HSI Tampa Assistant Special Agent in Charge John Dumas, in line with a news release from said HSI Tampa Assistant Special Agent in Cost John Dumas.

Day pleaded guilty to 2 counts of journey with intent to interact in illicit sexual conduct and two counts of attempted coercion and enticement of a minor into unlawful sexual exercise, in response to the DOJ. Day has been sentenced to life in jail.
