Florida man will get life in jail for traveling to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors – WFTV

TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida man has been sentenced to life in jail for touring to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors he met online, in accordance with officials.

The U.S. Division of Justice says Christopher Edwin Day, 52, traveled two completely different occasions in 2015 and 2016 to Vietnam from Florida to have sexual encounters with minor Vietnamese boys. Court docket records say he flew back and forth disguising himself as an English teacher.

A number of the boys, in keeping with the DOJ, have been lured with promises of money and gifts. Others launched him as their English trainer.

The Tampa Bay Information says Homeland Security investigated the case in Tampa and in Ho Chi Minh City. It was part of Mission Protected Childhood, which was an effort to seek out child intercourse abuse started in 2006 by the DOJ.
