Talking within the dugout of the Nice American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler mentioned, "I do not plan on popping out for the anthem going forward till I really feel better in regards to the course of our nation."

"I'm not okay with the state of this nation. I want I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I want that I may have demonstrated what I learned from my dad, that if you're dissatisfied along with your nation, you let or not it's known by means of protest. The home of the courageous ought to encourage this."
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger motion towards gun violence in the US.Kerr refused to talk about basketball ahead of Recreation 4 of the Warriors' sequence in opposition to the Dallas Mavericks, as an alternative raising his voice as he railed towards gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's capturing.
