Gabe Kapler: ‘I don’t plan on coming out for the anthem going ahead till I feel better concerning the direction of our nation’

Speaking in the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler stated, "I do not plan on popping out for the anthem going ahead till I feel higher about the route of our nation."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mother in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her kids. They blocked dad and mom trying to arrange to charge in to cease the shooter, including a father who realized his daughter was murdered whereas he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians decide that the lobbyist and gun industries are more necessary than our children's freedom to go to school while not having bulletproof backpacks and active shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he called "the lack of supply of the promise of what our national anthem represents."

"I'm not okay with the state of this nation. I want I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I want that I might have demonstrated what I learned from my dad, that while you're dissatisfied with your nation, you let it's known by protest. The home of the brave ought to encourage this."

Kerr refused to speak about basketball forward of Sport 4 of the Warriors' sequence in opposition to the Dallas Mavericks, instead raising his voice as he railed towards gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's shooting.

"Within the final 10 days, we have had aged Black folks killed in a supermarket in Buffalo, we have had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we have kids murdered in school," Kerr advised reporters at the beginning of the press convention.

"When are we going to do something? I'm tired. I'm so tired of getting up right here and offering condolences to the devastated families which are on the market ... I'm uninterested in the moments of silence. Enough."
