Talking within the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler mentioned, "I do not plan on coming out for the anthem going ahead till I feel better about the course of our nation."

In a blog put up, Kapler questioned whether or not the nation's leadership is committed to representing its individuals's greatest interests and whether or not the US is truly "the land of the free and the home of the brave."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mom in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her kids. They blocked parents attempting to prepare to cost in to stop the shooter, including a father who learned his daughter was murdered whereas he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians resolve that the lobbyist and gun industries are more necessary than our youngsters's freedom to go to highschool without having bulletproof backpacks and lively shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he called "the dearth of delivery of the promise of what our national anthem represents."

"I am not okay with the state of this country. I want I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I want that I may have demonstrated what I learned from my dad, that once you're dissatisfied along with your nation, you let or not it's identified via protest. The home of the brave ought to encourage this."

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger motion in opposition to gun violence in the United States.

Kerr refused to discuss basketball forward of Game 4 of the Warriors' series in opposition to the Dallas Mavericks, as a substitute elevating his voice as he railed towards gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's taking pictures.

"In the last 10 days, we have had elderly Black folks killed in a supermarket in Buffalo, we have had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we have youngsters murdered at college," Kerr informed reporters in the beginning of the press convention.
