Speaking within the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler said, "I don't plan on coming out for the anthem going ahead till I really feel higher about the path of our country."

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he referred to as "the lack of supply of the promise of what our nationwide anthem represents."
"I am not okay with the state of this country. I wish I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I wish that I might have demonstrated what I realized from my dad, that whenever you're dissatisfied together with your nation, you let it's known via protest. The house of the brave should encourage this."
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger motion in opposition to gun violence in the USA.Kerr refused to talk about basketball ahead of Recreation 4 of the Warriors' collection towards the Dallas Mavericks, as a substitute raising his voice as he railed in opposition to gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's capturing.
"Within the last 10 days, we've had elderly Black people killed in a supermarket in Buffalo, we've had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now now we have kids murdered at college," Kerr advised reporters in the beginning of the press conference.
"When are we going to do something? I am drained. I'm so tired of getting up right here and providing condolences to the devastated households which can be out there ... I'm tired of the moments of silence. Enough."
