Talking in the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler stated, "I do not plan on coming out for the anthem going forward till I really feel better concerning the direction of our country."

"I am not okay with the state of this nation. I wish I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I want that I could have demonstrated what I realized from my dad, that if you're dissatisfied with your country, you let it's identified through protest. The house of the courageous ought to encourage this."
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger motion towards gun violence in the USA.Kerr refused to talk about basketball forward of Recreation 4 of the Warriors' series against the Dallas Mavericks, instead elevating his voice as he railed towards gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's capturing.

"When are we going to do something? I'm drained. I'm so tired of getting up right here and offering condolences to the devastated households which might be on the market ... I am uninterested in the moments of silence. Enough."
