BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A man was arrested Friday after multiple signs saying "faculty shooter" were found in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Division of Safety announced. Guy Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces multiple charges.

An elevated amount of police officers were placed at colleges within the communities because of the indicators. Multiple schools initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly placed the signs across the communities, the Department of Safety said, however they decided there isn't a credible risk at the moment.

One such signal was written on a paper plate. The safety division released a photo of the plate but blurred a part of it "to guard the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony charge of criminal threatening and three misdemeanor expenses together with false report back to legislation enforcement, false public alarm and felony threatening. He's being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a listening to scheduled for Tuesday.

No other suspects have been charged at the moment.
