BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A man was arrested Friday after a number of indicators saying "college shooter" were found in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Division of Safety announced. Guy Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces multiple charges.

An increased amount of police officers have been placed at faculties in the communities as a result of the indicators. A number of faculties initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly positioned the signs around the communities, the Division of Safety mentioned, but they determined there isn't a credible threat presently.

One such signal was written on a paper plate. The security department released a photo of the plate however blurred a part of it "to protect the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony charge of criminal threatening and three misdemeanor costs including false report back to legislation enforcement, false public alarm and felony threatening. He is being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a listening to scheduled for Tuesday.

No other suspects have been charged at this time.
