Afghanistan’s supreme chief and Taliban chief on Saturday ordered the nation’s ladies to put on the all-covering burqa in public - one of the harshest controls imposed on women’s lives since the Taliban seized power.

“They need to put on a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it is traditional and respectful,” stated a decree issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada that was released by Taliban authorities at a operate in Kabul.

“These girls who aren't too previous or young should cover their face, except the eyes, as per sharia directives, so as to avoid provocation when assembly males who should not mahram (adult close male relations),” the decree mentioned.
