Afghanistan’s supreme chief and Taliban chief on Saturday ordered the nation’s ladies to put on the all-covering burqa in public - one of the harshest controls imposed on girls’s lives for the reason that Taliban seized energy.
“They should wear a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it's traditional and respectful,” mentioned a decree issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada that was released by Taliban authorities at a function in Kabul.
“Those ladies who will not be too previous or younger should cover their face, except the eyes, as per sharia directives, in order to avoid provocation when meeting males who usually are not mahram (adult close male kin),” the decree said.
It added that if women had no necessary work outdoors it was “better they stay at residence.”
Throughout their first regime between 1996 and 2001, the Taliban imposed related restrictions on girls.
