Afghanistan’s supreme leader and Taliban chief on Saturday ordered the nation’s women to wear the all-covering burqa in public - one of the harshest controls imposed on girls’s lives since the Taliban seized power.
“They need to put on a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it is conventional and respectful,” mentioned a decree issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada that was released by Taliban authorities at a function in Kabul.
“Those ladies who should not too old or young should cover their face, besides the eyes, as per sharia directives, in order to avoid provocation when meeting men who are not mahram (grownup shut male relatives),” the decree stated.
It added that if girls had no necessary work outdoors it was “better they keep at house.”
During their first regime between 1996 and 2001, the Taliban imposed related restrictions on ladies.
