Teen arrested after mom noticed son had gun at Texas school drop-off

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD/Gray News) - A number of companies responded to a middle faculty in Texas Friday morning after a teen’s mother seen he was carrying a gun.
Police in Lubbock inform KCBD a mom was dropping off her 15-year-old son at O.L. Slaton Center College around 9 a.m. when she observed the firearm. The teenager by no means made it contained in the building, and he ran from the school.
The Lubbock Police Department responded to the area along with several other companies in an try to find him.
The teen was found near the school’s campus and brought into custody.
Authorities mentioned the 15-year-old could possibly be facing a felony weapons charge.
Police say there was no risk made to the varsity or anyone inside the varsity.
O.L. Slaton Middle School was briefly placed on lockout as a result of the incident.
