Newly launched physique digital camera video reveals deputies in Warren County, Virginia, slammed a 77-year-old man into a pickup truck and tackled him to the ground. He died 13 days later.

The Warren County Sheriff's Workplace initially mentioned Ralph Ennis had fallen over the trailer hitch of his truck and hit his head through the arrest on April 2 outside a 7-Eleven close to Entrance Royal. Deputies had pulled him over for driving erratically and rushing, authorities mentioned.

The sheriff's workplace stated Ennis had non-life threatening injuries after the autumn.

Nonetheless, physique digicam video from a Entrance Royal police officer who was on the scene reveals a Warren County deputy run towards Ennis, who seemed to be stumbling around. The deputy then grabs Ennis and slams him face-forward into the again of Ennis' crimson pickup truck, which had a camper prime attached. Linda Ennis said her late husband had lately begun struggling with dementia and was the subject of a Silver Alert in mid-March.

Warren County Sheriff Mark Butler instructed News4 he stands by the preliminary assertion his office launched.

The Front Royal officer's report stated, however, the deputy "jerked the male round" and "slammed the male into the camper top face first."

The medical examiner has not released Ennis' explanation for dying.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Workplace mentioned deputies began following Ralph Ennis that morning because he was going 63 in a 55 and driving erratically. The sheriff's workplace said he didn’t come to stop till about 4 miles.

Ennis adopted commands to get out of the truck, but then refused orders to drop his keys and put his fingers behind his again, the sheriff's office stated.

Virginia State Police are investigating the arrest.
