Taliban leader orders ladies to wear all-covering burqa in public: Decree

Afghanistan’s supreme leader and Taliban chief on Saturday ordered the nation’s ladies to put on the all-covering burqa in public - one of many harshest controls imposed on girls’s lives because the Taliban seized power.

“They need to wear a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it is traditional and respectful,” stated a decree issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada that was released by Taliban authorities at a perform in Kabul.

“These ladies who aren't too old or young should cowl their face, besides the eyes, as per sharia directives, with the intention to avoid provocation when assembly males who usually are not mahram (grownup shut male kinfolk),” the decree stated.

It added that if girls had no important work outside it was “higher they keep at dwelling.”

Throughout their first regime between 1996 and 2001, the Taliban imposed similar restrictions on women.
