Afghanistan’s supreme leader and Taliban chief on Saturday ordered the nation’s girls to put on the all-covering burqa in public - one of the harshest controls imposed on women’s lives since the Taliban seized energy.
“They should wear a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it's traditional and respectful,” mentioned a decree issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada that was launched by Taliban authorities at a function in Kabul.
“Those girls who aren't too old or younger should cover their face, except the eyes, as per sharia directives, as a way to avoid provocation when assembly males who should not mahram (adult shut male kin),” the decree stated.
It added that if women had no essential work exterior it was “higher they stay at residence.”
During their first regime between 1996 and 2001, the Taliban imposed similar restrictions on ladies.
