BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A person was arrested Friday after a number of indicators saying "faculty shooter" have been found in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Department of Security announced. Guy Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces multiple charges.
Guy Hanson. New Hampshire State PoliceAn increased amount of law enforcement officials were positioned at faculties within the communities on account of the signs. A number of faculties initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.
Hanson allegedly positioned the indicators around the communities, the Department of Safety said, but they decided there isn't any credible threat right now.
The New Hampshire Division of Security is investigating signs that read 'college shooter!' which were found in a number of communities New Hampshire Division of SecurityOne such signal was written on a paper plate. The safety department released a photo of the plate but blurred part of it "to guard the integrity of the investigation."
Hanson was arrested on a felony charge of prison threatening and three misdemeanor fees together with false report back to legislation enforcement, false public alarm and criminal threatening. He is being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a hearing scheduled for Tuesday.
No other suspects have been charged presently.
