Drunk driver crashes, heads straight to dealership to try to sell damaged car with lacking tire

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Police say they arrested a driver who was 3.5 times the legal alcohol limit after no less than 5 folks referred to as 911.

Officers say the calls began coming in around 4:40 p.m. Monday.

They are saying witnesses reported seeing a SUV hit the median of the Lloyd Expressway close to the Essential Street exit. They say the crash triggered a flat tire and the car to smoke, but the driver stored going.

Different callers say the motive force was all around the road and now lacking a front tire.

They are saying he finally stopped at a automobile dealership and appeared “tremendous drunk.”

Staff told police the driver, 30-year-old Jordon Mattingly, was making an attempt to promote his SUV.

Police say he had swelling and scratches as if he had just been in a crash.

They are saying Mattingly smelled of alcohol and virtually fell several instances. Officers say he examined .291 on a portable breath test.

Police say inside his SUV, they found Four Loko cans and a can of White Claw.

Mattingly is dealing with several charges.

He is the son of the manager for the Miami Marlins and former skilled baseball player, Don Mattingly.
