Ayesha McGee was charged with third-degree assault and battery and Tahira McGee with second-degree assault and battery and resisting arrest. 

Officers said extra arrests are expected.

Officers said South Avenue from Nassau Street to Drake Road and America Road from Reid Street to Mary Avenue in the area will remain closed to process the shooting scene.

The mayor condemned gun violence within the city and across the nation, a nod to the Buffalo, New York, supermarket taking pictures and the Uvalde, Texas, faculty shooting.

“I don’t know about you however I’m mad about it. I’m fed up,” Tecklenburg mentioned. “Sufficient is sufficient."
