10 injured, 3 law enforcement officials damage after gunfire erupts in Charleston, S.C.

“There’s a whole lot of weapons that have been fired. Handguns, long guns, 223 rounds. If anyone doesn’t know what a 223 spherical will do, it’ll blow your leg right off, it’ll blow your head right off your shoulders. Those are the sorts of rounds that have been fired last night time,” Reynolds stated.

He stated there were “a pair different groups taking pictures at each other typically.”

“As we stand right here right now, we’re lucky we don’t have a lifeless cop or useless citizen or dead group members," Reynolds mentioned.

The investigation is ongoing and officers are still working the scene.

Two people were arrested stemming from the assaults on the deputies, police stated.

These suspects have been recognized as Ayesha McGee and Tahira McGee, NBC affiliate of WCBD of Charleston reported, citing experiences from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Workplace. 

Ayesha McGee was charged with third-degree assault and battery and Tahira McGee with second-degree assault and battery and resisting arrest. 

Officials stated more arrests are expected.

Officials said South Street from Nassau Avenue to Drake Avenue and America Street from Reid Road to Mary Road in the area will stay closed to process the shooting scene.

The mayor condemned gun violence within the city and throughout the nation, a nod to the Buffalo, New York, grocery store shooting and the Uvalde, Texas, faculty taking pictures.
