DALLAS - The excessive courtroom will allow a wrongful demise lawsuit to proceed against the city of Dallas and 4 police officers.

The family of a man who died in police custody in 2016 sued.

Tony Timpa known as police for assist as he had a drug and psychological health crisis.

Town of Dallas argued the officers are legally protected from lawsuits.

The Supreme Courtroom upheld a federal appeals courtroom’s ruling that may enable the case to proceed.

"The decision means that the case can proceed to trial and that there will be no extra delays from any appellate courtroom. Additionally, the choice implies that the Fifth Circuit did it right that their ruling relating to deadly pressure would be the law of the land no less than in Mississippi, Texas and Louisiana for as long as we all know," mentioned Geoff Henley, an legal professional for Timpa’s family.

Those are the states lined by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals ruling allowing the suit to proceed.
