Paul Pelosi, 82, was arrested at 11:44 p.m. PT and charged with driving under the affect and driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater, in response to the Napa County Felony Justice Network's public booking report. Both costs are misdemeanors.
TMZ was the first to report the arrest.Pelosi was making an attempt to cross SR-29 when his 2021 Porsche was hit by a 2014 Jeep touring northbound on the road, based on a collision report from the California Highway Patrol, which doesn't identify both driver as being at fault within the crash. Troopers had been referred to as to the scene just earlier than 10:30 p.m., the report stated.
There were no accidents reported within the crash and the Jeep's driver was not arrested, the report stated.
CNN has reached out to the freeway patrol and the Napa County Sheriff's Workplace for added details.
Bail was set at $5,000 in line with the reserving report, and records indicate Pelosi was released Sunday morning.
"The Speaker won't be commenting on this private matter which occurred while she was on the East Coast," a statement from Drew Hammill, Pelosi's spokesperson, mentioned. CNN reached out for an up to date statement after the collision report was released.
