Die Seitenbesitzer erkannten flott den Wert einer bevorzugten Positionierung in Suchergebnissen und recht bald fand man Anstalt, die sich auf die Optimierung qualifizierten. In den Anfängen geschah die Aufnahme oft zu der Transfer der URL der geeigneten Seite an die divergenten Internet Suchmaschinen. Diese sendeten dann einen Webcrawler zur Untersuchung der Seite aus und indexierten sie.[1] Der Webcrawler lud die Webseite auf den Web Server der Anlaufstelle, wo ein weiteres Programm, der bekannte Indexer, Angaben herauslas und katalogisierte (genannte Ansprüche, Links zu weiteren Seiten). Die frühen Varianten der Suchalgorithmen basierten auf Infos, die mit den Webmaster selbst vorliegen werden konnten, wie Meta-Elemente, oder durch Indexdateien in Suchmaschinen im Netz wie ALIWEB. Meta-Elemente geben einen Gesamtüberblick mit Essenz einer Seite, dennoch registrierte sich bald heraus, dass die Nutzung der Vorschläge nicht ordentlich war, da die Wahl der gebrauchten Schlagworte dank dem Webmaster eine ungenaue Abbildung des Seiteninhalts reflektieren hat. Ungenaue und unvollständige Daten in den Meta-Elementen vermochten so irrelevante Websites bei einzigartigen Recherchieren listen.[2] Auch versuchten Seitenersteller unterschiedliche Punkte innerhalb des HTML-Codes einer Seite so zu beherrschen, dass die Seite besser in den Suchergebnissen aufgeführt wird.[3] Da die damaligen Internet Suchmaschinen sehr auf Kriterien abhängig waren, die ausschließlich in den Fingern der Webmaster lagen, waren sie auch sehr vulnerabel für Straftat und Manipulationen im Ranking. Um vorteilhaftere und relevantere Testergebnisse in den Ergebnissen zu bekommen, mussten sich die Inhaber der Internet Suchmaschinen an diese Rahmenbedingungen adaptieren. Weil der Gewinn einer Search Engine davon anhängig ist, relevante Suchresultate zu den gestellten Keywords anzuzeigen, konnten ungünstige Vergleichsergebnisse dazu führen, dass sich die Benutzer nach weiteren Entwicklungsmöglichkeiten wofür Suche im Web umblicken. Die Erwiderung der Suchmaschinen im Internet lagerbestand in komplexeren Algorithmen für das Rangfolge, die Faktoren beinhalteten, die von Webmastern nicht oder nur nicht leicht lenkbar waren. Larry Page und Sergey Brin entwarfen mit „Backrub“ – dem Urahn von Bing – eine Suchmaschine, die auf einem mathematischen KI basierte, der mit Hilfe der Verlinkungsstruktur Webseiten gewichtete und dies in Rankingalgorithmus eingehen ließ. Is using a server side wildcard redirect good practice? This was done but the old domain urls are still indexed a year later. Rankings for the new domain are still terrible and not the same as before the change of address tool.

My question is that we see the usage of webp images more frequently, also Apple announced that he will support Google’s webp image format. Looking at most of the webshops using webp already the type of the image is webp, but they leave the extension of jpg for example https://google.com/image.jpg but type is webp. What could be the reason for that? Wouldn't it be better if the image would have a .webp extension or no extension at all. Is this related somehow to indexing or SEO? I think they do not want to make the redirect of the images and that’s why they change just the type of the file instead of changing the extension.

We did domain name change some months ago and over 3 months everything was fine in terms of ranking, then suddenly we lost all our ranking. All SEO guru have been indicating it's duplicate content issue because both old and new domain contents are on one server. Can you drop some light on this?

If you migrate your website then check out 301 redirect a few times. Even more, after migration control your redirects because it might break in some time.
