Die Seitenbesitzer erkannten unmittelbar den Wert einer lieblings Positionierung in Suchergebnissen und recht bald fand man Organisation, die sich auf die Besserung qualifitierten. In Anfängen geschah der Antritt oft zu der Übertragung der URL der passenden Seite bei der divergenten Suchmaschinen im WWW. Diese sendeten dann einen Webcrawler zur Auswertung der Seite aus und indexierten sie.[1] Der Webcrawler lud die Internetpräsenz auf den Server der Anlaufstelle, wo ein 2. Programm, der die bekannten Indexer, Informationen herauslas und katalogisierte (genannte Ansprüche, Links zu weiteren Seiten). Die neuzeitlichen Modellen der Suchalgorithmen basierten auf Informationen, die mithilfe der Webmaster auch gegeben sind, wie Meta-Elemente, oder durch Indexdateien in Suchmaschinen im Internet wie ALIWEB. Meta-Elemente geben eine Übersicht per Essenz einer Seite, allerdings stellte sich bald hoch, dass die Benutzung dieser Details nicht vertrauenswürdig war, da die Wahl der verwendeten Schlüsselworte durch den Webmaster eine ungenaue Beschreibung des Seiteninhalts reflektieren konnte. Ungenaue und unvollständige Daten in Meta-Elementen konnten so irrelevante Seiten bei einzigartigen Stöbern listen.[2] Auch versuchten Seitenersteller unterschiedliche Attribute innert des HTML-Codes einer Seite so zu manipulieren, dass die Seite überlegen in den Serps gefunden wird.[3] Da die neuzeitlichen Internet Suchmaschinen sehr auf Aspekte angewiesen waren, die bloß in Händen der Webmaster lagen, waren sie auch sehr empfänglich für Schindluder und Manipulationen im Ranking. Um vorteilhaftere und relevantere Vergleichsergebnisse in Ergebnissen zu bekommen, mussten sich die Besitzer der Suchmaschinen an diese Rahmenbedingungen angleichen. Weil der Gewinn einer Suchseiten davon anhängig ist, besondere Suchergebnisse zu den gestellten Suchbegriffen anzuzeigen, konnten unangebrachte Urteile dazu führen, dass sich die Benutzer nach sonstigen Chancen zur Suche im Web umschauen. Die Rückmeldung der Search Engines fortbestand in komplexeren Algorithmen für das Rang, die Merkmalen beinhalteten, die von Webmastern nicht oder nur schwer beherrschbar waren. Larry Page und Sergey Brin entwarfen mit „Backrub“ – dem Urahn von Yahoo – eine Anlaufstelle, die auf einem mathematischen Algorithmus basierte, der anhand der Verlinkungsstruktur Seiten gewichtete und dies in den Rankingalgorithmus einfließen ließ. Auch übrige Suchmaschinen im Internet bedeckt bei Folgezeit die Verlinkungsstruktur bspw. in Form der Linkpopularität in ihre Algorithmen mit ein. Yahoo
Is using a server side wildcard redirect good practice? This was done but the old domain urls are still indexed a year later. Rankings for the new domain are still terrible and not the same as before the change of address tool.

My question is that we see the usage of webp images more frequently, also Apple announced that he will support Google’s webp image format. Looking at most of the webshops using webp already the type of the image is webp, but they leave the extension of jpg for example https://google.com/image.jpg but type is webp. What could be the reason for that? Wouldn't it be better if the image would have a .webp extension or no extension at all. Is this related somehow to indexing or SEO? I think they do not want to make the redirect of the images and that’s why they change just the type of the file instead of changing the extension.

We did domain name change some months ago and over 3 months everything was fine in terms of ranking, then suddenly we lost all our ranking. All SEO guru have been indicating it's duplicate content issue because both old and new domain contents are on one server. Can you drop some light on this?

If you migrate your website then check out 301 redirect a few times. Even more, after migration control your redirects because it might break in some time.
